While the left often gives more rights to animals than they do to unborn babies, you would assume this would mean they take the crime of animal abuse seriously. It turns out, though, that is not true, at least when it comes to illegal immigrants.

On Thursday, 190 House Democrats voted against a bill that “would make any noncitizen who is convicted of or admits to harming animals used in law enforcement operations deportable and not allowed to return.” It is unclear if this is driven by their hate for the police or if they truly believe foreign nationals have a right to be here even when they harm animals, so draw your own conclusions. And yes, both can be true.
According to Fox News:
“The dogs and horses on the front lines of our federal law enforcement efforts alongside our officers deserve our protection,” Calvert said upon introducing the legislation. “[It] sends a clear message that we will stand up for our four-legged friends and have zero tolerance for any immigrants who assault them.”

The California Republican’s legislation would have made Marie eligible for deportation and inadmissible to the United States.
According to Democrats, the reason they voted against this is that “offenders could already be deported under existing law” and that it could jeopardize a legal immigrant’s chances of becoming a citizen.
Even if the law allows for deportation prior to this offense, that does not mean you don’t make the law more strict. The left also does everything in its power to ensure no human is illegal, so no one is buying their crap. Additionally, I think most Americans would agree that animal abusers who follow immigration laws don’t deserve to be in this country either. The fact that this might have been one of the least controversial bills regarding illegal immigration and the left struck it down tells you all you need to know.
