(LifeSiteNews) — A Brussels-based pro-LGBT organization has said pro-life and pro-family groups are like viruses, calling for the “decontamination of Europe” in a new report.
In September, the organization Forbidden Colours published an extensive report on the “anti-gender movement” titled “The Hate Review.” The goal of the NGO is to push back and censor criticism of abortion, the sexualization of children in schools, and the LGBT agenda.
The report attempts to measure the “contamination” of European societies with the “viral load” of anti-gender ideas and organizations.
“The real, long-term fight is the decontamination of Europe – the patient dismantling of the anti-gender movement’s actors, its mobilisation and its narratives in the societies where they have taken hold,” the report states.
According to a report by the Forum of Religious Freedom – Europe (FOREF), The Hate Review, which is over 400 pages long, covers 25 years and contains more than 3,200 entries, as well as over 700 organizations and individuals. Forbidden Colours laments the growing movement across Europe that allegedly tries to undermine “reproductive rights” and the rights of “LGBTIQ+ individuals.”
This movement includes pro-life and pro-family groups, like the German pro-life organization “Aktion Lebensrecht für Alle” (ALfA) or Britain’s Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC).
The Hate Review also names pro-family groups like the Austrian Familienallianz (Family Alliance), which work to protect children from sexualization in schools.
Throughout the report, the authors repeatedly use pathologizing language and speak of social “contamination,” “fever,” and “infection” regarding the promotion of the sex binary.
FOREF writes that “[s]uch pathologizing language constitutes a precursor to incitement to violence and must therefore be condemned in the strongest terms. Those who portray critics as an infectious disease are attempting to exclude them from public discourse and democratic processes.”
FOREF reports that the author of The Hate Review, Vincent Reillon, is a political lobbyist in Brussels who previously worked for the European Parliament’s Research Service and for the Permanent Representation of France to the EU. Rémy Bonny, who has served as executive director of Forbidden Colours since April 2021, has led the organization in campaigns against Hungary’s restrictions on LGBT content in schools and media.
The Hate Review was presented at an event in the European Parliament on October 12, hosted by MEP Marc Angel of Luxembourg, who is a member of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D).
