Pro-life group plans record diaper drive on Capitol Hill
—
A coalition of pro-life advocacy groups plan to mount the largest diaper drive in America over the weekend on Capitol Hill. Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins cited Planned Parenthood’s 2022-23 annual abortion count as the inspiration behind the drive. Data showed 392,715 preborn babies were killed by the abortion giant, so 392,715 diapers will be distributed in their remembrance, Hawkins said. The diapers and other resources will be donated to needy families to tangibly support those who choose life, she added.
The most recent annual data from 2023-24 reported that Planned Parenthood ended the lives of over 400,000 babies, a nearly 8% jump over the last two years, Students for Life Action noted. The abortion group also received a 13% boost in federal funding, with taxpayers forced to cover nearly 40% of Planned Parenthood’s budget, according to the 2023-2024 report.
